Depends: For people with established heart or lung disease it can be a normal reading. However, if you have no established heart or lung problems your saturations should remain above 90 percent. Obesity, sleep apnea, or perhaps some nocturnal asthma could play and effect.

It could be: Depends on whether you have risk factors (E.g. smoking, used to work on mines or with chemicals) or if you have any symptoms (like lack of breathing). It could be caused by obesity, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neurological disorders (including depression and neurodegenerative diseases) and aging.
