A member asked:

My son(3)has allergies, some know and others not. allergy tests came out negative. in winter its impossible to keep him healthy, he has constant ent issues -upper airway. he is on allergex&avamys and after recent antibiotics he still had a wet cough?

Not uncommon: Young kids are expected to have 5-7 URI's/yr until age 5 when the frequency drops some. They cluster around winter & any other situations where viruses are about & people gather in homes/stores. As the airways grow larger & the kids develop more immunity the amount of symptoms declines as does frequency of illness. This is neither uncommon or preventable in most kids. Good hand washing helps some
