Needs to be examined: Your son should be examined in a clinic or office. A more complete history is needed to start. Does he have a fever? How is his appetite? Does he have a history of allergies? Only a throat culture can help determine with any certainty if this is due to strep. Bacteria such as strep respond to antibiotics. Viruses and allergic conditions do not respond to antibiotics. I wish your son good health.
