Nope: HPV infection itself does not cause cough. For example, cough rarely if ever is a sign of a newly acquired HPV infection. Many conditions resulting from immune deficiency due to HPV cause cough (and many other symptoms), but that's an issue only for longstanding HIV with severe immune deficiency. If you think you might have been exposed, get tested -- but symptoms almost never are helpful.
