Last cycle was 10 days late & lasted 3-4 days. next cycle is due in 8 days & i'm experiencing light red & brown spotting w/ small blood clots. why?

Contraceptive method: If on hormonal contraceptive, this can be normal break through bleeding. If not on effective contraceptive, and sexual active, this could be implantation bleeding from the fertilized egg. Pregnancy test in 8 days, could be useful.
