Exam needed: An examination is needed. You may have an inflammatory process in the colon such as diverticulitis or colitis. If so, associated bowel symptoms and/ or abdominal tenderness would be common. With severe inflammation of the descending colon, pressure on the urinary bladder can occur. If abdominal discomfort is severe, I recommend that you go to the hospital emergency room for prompt evaluation.
