Strain: In my experience strain of the hamstrings take longer to heal. Treat your quadricep strain by avoiding strenuous leg exercise. Some slow walking should be permissible. Stretching but not resistance exercise until pain and soreness resolve.Even mild strains may have some muscle tears. Severe strains also have swelling. Healing hopefully in 1-2 weeks for minor strains. Don't restrain!!
