Skin exam: You May indeed opt out of a genital skin exam, just as you could of any skin area you preferred not to have examined. But realize that about 1-3% of all skin cancers develop there. Your doctor, to paraphrase a popular commercial, “treats a lot, because he SEES a lot.” Don’t cheat yourself — check EVERYTHING‼️

Yes/why: A annual exam in an adult male would be expected to include a manual exam of the penis & testis along with a rectal exam. Testicular cancer is one of the more common & serious issues for men in their 20's-30's and prostate cancer eventually becomes an issue. Both are stealth cancers which are often well established before you would begin symptoms. Why have an exam just to say you did?
