Sometimes...: Some people have allergies all year round. If antihistamines help then that is probably what is going on. You might consider seeing an allergist for some alternate solutions if you do not want to take a daily antihistamine. You might also try using nasal saline several times a day the next time you stop the antihistamines and see if this helps. It is a way to flush out the allergens.
