Hello, i've had a sore throat and a headache for the past couple days. i have tried hot water, lozenges, and ibuprofen. is there anything else i should try, or should i be concerned it could be something more serious? sore throat

Exam: Viruses which cause the common cold & the flu also cause most sore throats. Bacterial infections cause sore throats less often. Other possible causes include allergies, irritants and HIV. Strep throat generally responds well to antibiotics. I suggest you go to a medical clinic for an exam which should include a throat culture. I wish you well with your health!
