A member asked:

My down syndrome screening results shows high risk? is it possible that this test is linked to my age? i am currently 38years old and 16weeks pregnant

Hard to say: You did not cite the type of screening or result so it is hard to say what it means. Women progress from ~1/1500 DS risk in their 20's to 1/800 at 35-39 just by age. Screening uses cheaper test are designed to select the subgroup where a more accurate test is worth the investment. They can draw your blood & do a NIPS test that has 99% accuracy for DS or other such disorders. If it matters get do it
