Trichomonas: You have been misinformed, or you misunderstood. All STI experts know that trichomonas infects men, usually without symptoms, and can persist for long periods (months? years?). Women with trichomonas often are reinfected if their sex partners are not treated for trich. Trich testing in men is controversial. With DNA tests now available, testing is more common but not routine in all settings.
