A member asked:

I got diagnosed with chondromalacia patella and i keep getting intermittent burning pain, and my therapist says my pain is in my head. thoughts?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chondromalacia: If a physician, an orthopedic specialist or rheumatologist has diagnosed you with chondromalacia patella, your symptoms are not imagined. Use of icing and taking anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen should relieve pain and any swelling. Then you can embark on a program of physiotherapy to strengthen surrounding knee structures taking stress off the patella.
