Threefold approach:: 1) behavioral tactics to circumvent the problem; 2) treating the lupus itself; 3) "symptomatic" drug therapy. Ask your rheumatologist for help with this. If that isn't enough, seek out a neurologist or psychiatrist who's experienced in drug therapy of neuropsychiatric lupus. You should be able to find someone in Chicago. Check out the medical school faculties.
