I have been using a symbicort inhaler for 2 weeks now but still have a lot of phlegm on my chest. can i use a mucolytic with my inhaler?

Yes: Yes you can. If you have copious amounts of discolored sputum you may have a bacterial bronchitis and could profit from a course of an appropriate antibiotic. If there is persistent wheezing, oral corticosteroids may also be needed. Discuss these issues with your physician.

Yes you Can, but: Symbicort won't help the infection if present, either in lower or upper respiratory tract, you may still want to see your doctor for assessment and treatment plan if not improving, wish you well
