Orthopedic care: Hi. A bunion refers to a condition in which the big toe is angled towards the second toe. No single cause has been proved to cause a bunion. Bunions may not cause you any trouble, but sometimes they can cause pain, redness, swelling, difficulty walking. Visit an orthopedic surgeon so he can order some x-rays and give you treatment. Good luck!
