A member asked:

Can a cervical ectropion or polyp be cured? i have one or the other. could it clear up on its own, and can i do anything to help it go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cervix ?'s: "Cervical ectropion" is a reference to an inflammatory condition of the cervix, which (if the Pap smear is normal) can be treated easily by hot or cold cautery. A "cervical polyp" oringinates inside the uterus but may be seen at the opening of the cervix. It can be removed by a simple office procedure. Neither of these will "go away" without treatment.
