Trachoma: Azothromycin given as a single dose is usually the treatment, dosing differ according to age, it doesn't instantly cure trachoma, and it would take few days for symptoms to subside, depending on severity of disease , at times other medications may be needed for extended periods (weeks). More important is preventing recurrence, so observing environmental measures / treating family members too
