Stomach upset: can occur, also could occur from the intended pregnancy? Alternate route of placing the metformin in the vagina can be a method to avoid upset stomach, but 24 hr metformin does not dissolve and would need retrieval prior to new one being placed. If pregnant your doctor may advise continuing or stopping metformin in some cases.
