IUD ?'s : An IUD of almost any type which has not caused pain, discharge or abnormal bleeding does not need to be "visible" or checked by an exam. Many times the string for the IUD is wrapped around the stem and cannot be felt. If necessary when/if problems arise, it can be removed by a gyn physician even if not "visible".
