Fasting before U/S: The fasting requirements (both for eating and drinking) are usually given to a patient by their doctor before the test. If the paperwork says to fast (no eating or drinking) for 8-12 hours before the test, this usually includes drinking water, unless otherwise specified. If you want to make sure, please call your doctor or the center where the ultrasound (U/S) will be done to confirm.
