Constipation: If you are having severe constipation you want to make sure you are having enough fiber in your diet. You can add Benefiber or Miralax (polyethylene glycol) to help soften your stool. Have your thyroid checked to make sure your constipation isn't due to any issues. Have your back checked if you get the pain without the constipation. Feel better soon

Stool softener-seeDr: Sounds like constipation possibly. Continue the healthy diet with increased Fiber and plenty of fluids, and see the dr. to be assessed for your possible constipation and back pains. Good luck.

Start w/ definition: How do you define "constipation?" Medical definition is bowel infrequency (less than 1 bowel movement every 3-4 days). This reflects slow versus normal transit of gut contents, pelvic floor/rectal dysfunction, inflammation, obstruction (stricture, tumor, volvulus, intussusseption), pseudo-obstruction, drug-related (narcotics, anti-cholinergics), metabolic (low thyroid), more--time for evaluation.
