A member asked:

Can't eat or drink. water is excruciatingly painful (any temp). only eating small amount 1st thing and a few sips of water. how can i help tummy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can evaluate: Many things are in the upper abdomen: stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, gall bladder, large intestine, abdominal muscles, etc... An exam by a primary care doctor can help figure things out. Pain in the right upper abdomen, especially with symptoms that occur after eating, can be due to gallstones or other gall bladder disease. Excess stomach acid or stomach ulcers cause pain too.
