A member asked:

What do i do about heavy mentral cycle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Heavy menses" ?: Heavy bleeding at age 55 can be caused by adenomyosis, which is a form of endometriosis invading the muscle of the uterus. Other causes can be polyps, fibroids, or thickened lining of the womb secondary to extended times between "periods". See your gyn physician for testing, and discuss low dose oral bcp's (unless there are contraindications).
