Too numerous to list: There are numerous viral & non viral infections that can trigger lymph node enlargement in any part of the body, including the neck or armpit. Even common vaccinations can stimulate node enlargement as can bug bites or skin infection/irritation. Numerous respiratory viruses can infect the ear. This is a vague set of conditions. A more specific answer would require narrowing the issue.
