Yes and no: Acute Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection causes infectious mononucleosis, also called glandular fever. The main symptoms are partly "flu like": fever, headache, muscle aches, sore throat. Usually there also are enlarged lymph nodes in several areas, which is not flu like. Flu causes cough, mono does not. You cannot make a good conclusion based only on symptoms. See a doctor.
