A member asked:

Does taking one .25 mg of xanax per day really do anything at such a low dose?

Xanax: Noted that you are 68 years old. In older patients, or when there is liver disease or other serious conditions, the dose of Xanax may need to be lowered. Although it may be started at 0.25 mg 2 to 3 times per day, a lower dose may be effective for some.
