My dr prescribed one .25 mg of xanax twice a day is this considered a high dose ?

Xanax: I would consider this a moderate dose of daily xanax for your age group. Excessive drowsiness would be a sign that the dose is too high for you. If anxiety is not controlled a higher dose would be acceptable.

Xanax: The dose of xanax is 0.25mg to 0.5 mg three times daily. However, the medication can be used prn or twice daily as you have been prescribed. The dose you have been prescribed is fairly typical.
