Fating blood glucose: If you are concerned about having diabetes and A1c results are not reliable due to your anemia, get fasting blood glucose test done. You may need to repeat it if the first result is higher than 126 mg/dL or 7.0 mmoles. Measuring blood glucose the gold standard for diagnosing diabetes.
