Visual field test: The visual field test is the best test to help demonstrate the effect of a brain tumor. It is not diagnostic. There is no single eye test that can diagnose a brain tumor. Diagnosis of brain tumor is made by a complete physical exam combined with neuroimaging and appropriate ancillary testing such as visual field test.

Visual Field Defect: Brain tumors can affect the nerve pathways that make up our visual field. A humphrey or goldman visual field will show complementary visual field defects in each eye depending of where the tumor is. Not all brain tumors are malignant (deadly).
