A primary care doctor can evaluate to see if it is constipation, a bowel problem, a liver or gall bladder problem, a kidney problem, or some other abdominal issue. The doctor sometimes may order some blood and urine tests, and may order an abdominal scan such as an ultrasound scan to look inside the belly.
