Mercury free fish: oil is fine.Oceanic Larger fish that eat other fish may have more mercury as you follow the levels up the food chain. Fresh water fish are less likely to have mercury.

Doesn't hurt. : Prior studies showed an association between fish consumption and better neurodevelopmental outcomes. However, more recent information specifically regarding fish oil supplements has not shown the same benefit. While there is no real safety concern, you may be spending money without having much of an effect. I recommend pregnant women consume fish oil by regularly eating fish that is low in mercury.
