Activity!: The more you walk, and the more water you drink (shoot for 64 oz water daily assuming you don't have congestive heart failure or hyponatremia), the better your fluid balance will be. Most importantly, you should wear compression stockings. Assuming you don't have peripheral artery disease (cramping pain with walking in calves that goes away with rest), shoot for stockings with 14-21mmHg.
