A member asked:

I live where theres a measles outbreak. grew up in canada and am unsure of vaccine status. are online blood test cos okay for testing immunity?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

I wouldn't : At your listed age only 1 dose of vaccine was usually given which only protected 85% of the population. By the mid 90's 2 doses at least a month apart was standard (95% protected). I would forgo blood tests & just get an MMR (only measles preparation available in US) unless you knew for sure you had measles as a kid. Transient joint discomfort is a common side effect, but that is what I would do.
