Love him: Nothing you can do will affect the natural history of his illness. If he does not get a surgical cure, then it is possible that he will get a few good years from radiation and/or chemotherapy. The most important single factor in the quality of his life, regardless of outcome, is you. Be helpful, respect his autonomy, and remain affectionate and good-natured, doing what you can to keep him happy.
