Unpleasant odor: Any dental problems?. If not, first consult an Otolaryngologist to check for nasal, paranasal sinuses or taste pathology. Other causes are neurological abnormalities or psychiatric disorders(which is unlikely in your case). If this phantom odor is only of recent origin, it may resolve.
