Fasting: Less than 100, non- fasting it is very variable. There is a very good test that you can buy at a pharmacy, it is called hba1-c now which will tell you wether your average blood sugar is greater than normal.

100mg/dL or less: Physicians measure patient's fasting blood glucose. This is the blood sugar taken when the patient hasn't had food or drink for at least 8 hours. "normal" is considered to be 100mg/dl or less. There is a little leeway before a level is high enough to raise concern and necessitate intervention though. A non-fasting blood sugar - or random should be less than 150... Especially 2 hours after you eat.

65-100: 65-100 when drawn out of a vein while fasting. Various authorities have different "normal" levels. There are, however, no exact cut-offs, it's all a continuium. See diabetes.Org for more into.

Under 120: Independent of what they eat, the blood sugar of a truly normal person is: Under 120 mg/dl (6.6 mmol/L) one or two hours after a meal. Most normal people are under 100 mg/dl (5.5 mmol/L) two hours after eating.
