Natural Rx: In order to avoid the potential side effects of sleeping pills I suggest Natural Interventions to help you catch up on your sleep during the day. Some foods will help induce sleep including almonds, walnuts, chamomile tea, turkey, tart cherry juice, bananas & kiwi. Avoid alcohol & caffeine. Make certain your room is quite and darkened. Avoid use of your smartphone & computer.

Sleep: I agree with Dr. Mandel's advice. When I used to work all night covering the emergency room and had to sleep during the day, a dark,quiet bedroom and avoiding caffeine and/or chocolate were most important in my getting quality sleep. However in those days we didn't have to cope with laptops and smartphones.
