Yes: Gum disease has been implicated in cardiac problems, stroke, pancreatitis, low birth weight pre term babies, and so many other health problems. Gum disease is an infective inflammatory process. See your Dentist immediately. Referral to a Periodontist, a gum specialist, may be in order.
