Lifestyle changes: Unfortunately there is no one correct answer for this. So called lifestyle modifications are quite challenging to overcome. It may not suffice to look at it in such finite terms, such as to lose weight. Setting attainable goals over short time periods can be helpful. Fortunately, it seems that after three months of a certain activity, it becomes routing. Keep at it.

Everyone's different: Everyone is different. Many people are motivated by social cues: a workout buddy or group. Some people are motivated by rewards such as health goals weight loss, feeling more energy & metabolic changes: better cholesterol &blood sugar. Or the effects on life expectancy: disease prevention which are too many to list. Bottom line, you need to make it convenient, a priority & fun [or pleasant].
