A member asked:

I am helping take care of my 77-year-old mom. between worrying about her and going through menopause ( i'm 52) i was using melatonin to help me fall asleep. should i limit that and try a different remedy? over the counter sleep aids

No, its safe: Melatonin can be very helpful and considered safe-I don't generally recommend going above 20mg. You might try 400-500mg of Mg 1/2 hr before bed(gluconate or citrate the best forms) also routine sleep schedule and 30min relaxing routine at night
