A member asked:

If eggs are on an object and if they hatch there will they continue to live? and how much time they need to hatch? (pinworms)

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The eggs require passage through the acid environment of the stomach & into the intestines to complete their life cycle. They are an only human parasite that does not survive outside their human host more than a few days & will not hatch outside their specialized environmental needs.
