A member asked:

I have been vaccinated with hep b as a kid. am i 26 now, how long can the hep b vaccination last?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hard to be sure: The series given in kids will convert 90-95% to protective levels that are maintained for at least 2 decades in some. The detected antibodies fall over time in normal But whether or not they remain protective is not clear. Risk of Hep B revolves around conversion of acute to chronic disease which is highest in infants/kids. Chronic disease can lead to liver failure/cancer/death.
