Don't think so : Seek evaluation by an experienced spine surgeon , surgery isn't always the first line, and not done prophylacticaly, severe uncontrollable pain or evidence of nerve affection leading to paralysis or loss of feeling would be indications for surgery otherwise conservative management is tried first, wish you well and good luck
