Common: Swollen glands will usually represent an infection. About 3/4 of these are viral (including mono), but the 1/4 that may be strep could lead to complications. (Rheumatic fever) A simple office test can verify strep & allow for treatment soon enough to prevent complications. I would take her in to be seen.
