Need further testing: Gastric surgery, gastrectomy and gastric bypass surgery for weight loss, is responsible for most bile reflux. But distinguishing between acid reflux and bile reflux is difficult (Sign & Symp.are similar) and requires further testing.Lifestyle adjustments and medications , effective for acid reflux, but bile reflux is harder to Rx. Ursodeoxycholic acid, and Bile Acid sequestrant not effective.
