A member asked:

My wife have had a total hysterectomy at age 27 that brought on induced menopause she is now 54, and after bloodtests, was told today she is menopausal again. is it possible to be menopausal twice in your life!

Post Hyst: It is sometimes confused that a hysterectomy results in menopause. While removing the uterus takes away menstruation, it’s actualy removal of the ovaries that results in surgical menopause. Not knowing your wife’s surgical history my suspicion is they only removed her uterus at age 27 and she became menopausal naturally at the average age to do so.
