Exam recommended: Right lower abdominal discomfort raises concern for appendicitis even with atypical associated symptoms. Examination by a physician is recommended especially if there is associated tenderness. Other possibilities include pelvic pathology, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease and right sided diverticulitis.
