2 g a day: You dont want to exceed 2 g a day total daily intake of salt. If youre eating a product, see how much salt per serving and how many servings youre having. Take into account what you already had that had salt and what you may have latter that will contain salt.

Total sodium per day: Total sodium per day should remain less than 3000 mg for most persons. So, you have to do some arithmetic to figure that out. Download AAKP Nutrition Counter - from AAKP.org. This document informs of sodium content of most foods we can eat or drink. Total per day is what matters most.
