A member asked:

I have an iud and took a home pregnancy test...it was positive. could it be wrong?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tests are accurate: If not sure whether pregnant or not, can retest in 1 week, and contact doctor if result is positive. Home urine pregnancy tests are very accurate and not affected by foods, herbs, common illnesses, sexually transmitted diseases, or medications. A correctly done urine test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have happened) or 1 week after missing a period.
